Mit der israelischen Nationalmannschaft verpasste Tamir bei der EuroBasket 2022 nur knapp die Endrunde. Bei ALBA spielt er seit voriger Saison, Deutschland ist die erste Auslandsstation des Spielmachers. Als Sohn der Trainerlegende David Blatt atmete er allerdings schon in ganz jungen Jahren in Russland, der Türkei, Italien und Griechenland die Luft des europäischen Basketballs. Mit 17 debütierte er in der israelischen Liga und gewann 2017 mit Israels Junioren die Silbermedaille bei der U20-EM. Mit Holon und Jerusalem wurde er zwischen 2018 und 2020 dreimal in Folge israelischer Pokalsieger. Sein gutes Auge für die Mitspieler und sein starker Distanzwurf waren auch bei ALBAs Double-Gewinn entscheidende Faktoren.

Tamir narrowly missed out on the round of sixteen at EuroBasket 2022 with the Israeli national team. He has been playing for ALBA since last season, with Germany being the playmaker's first stop abroad. As the son of legendary coach David Blatt, he soaked up the spirit of European basketball from a very young age in Russia, Turkey, Italy and Greece. At the age of 17, he debuted in the Israeli league and in 2017 won the silver medal at the European Under-20 Championship with Israel's junior team. Playing for Holon and Jerusalem, he won the Israeli Cup three times in a row between 2018 and 2020. His good eye for his teammates and his strong long-distance shooting were also decisive factors in ALBA's 2022 double win.
