Abseits des Courts ist Yovel eigentlich ein ruhiger, besonnener Typ. Auf dem Spielfeld konnten die ALBA-Fans in der vergangenen Saison allerdings auch sein großes Temperament erleben. Bevor er 2021 nach Berlin kam, war er viermal israelischer Meister mit Maccabi Tel Aviv geworden. Aber er fühlte sich dort zu sehr auf die Rolle des Defensivspezialisten festgelegt. In Berlin gewährt Trainer Israel González dem talentierten Allrounder mehr Spielraum und Freiheit. So kann Yovel als Forward sein ganzes Potenzial entwickeln. Für ihn und das israelische Nationalteam hat es bei der EM leider nicht ganz für die Finalrunde gereicht.

Off the court, Yovel is actually a calm, level-headed guy. On the court, however, ALBA fans were able to witness his considerable temperament last season. Before coming to Berlin in 2021, he had won the Israeli championship four times with Maccabi Tel Aviv. But he felt too confined in his role of defensive specialist there. In Berlin, coach Israel González gives the talented all-rounder more leeway and freedom. This allows Yovel to develop his full potential as a forward. Unfortunately, he and the Israeli national team didn't quite make it to the finals at the European Championships.
