Spätestens seit der U20-Europameisterschaft 2018 in Chemnitz, bei der Yovel die israelischen Junioren als MVP zum Titel führte, gehört der israelische Nationalspieler zu den weltweit am intensivsten beobachteten Talenten. Bei Maccabi Tel Aviv wurde er in den vergangenen vier Jahren Meister. Er glänzte dort auf den Positionen zwei bis vier und erspielte sich auch in der EuroLeague einen Ruf als exzellenter Verteidiger. Zuletzt fühlte sich der Forward bei Maccabi aber zu sehr auf diese Rolle festgelegt. Im Alter von 23 Jahren schlägt er deshalb jetzt mit seinem ersten Auslandsengagement ein neues Kapitel seiner Karriere auf – im ALBA-Trikot.

Ever since the U20 European Championship in Chemnitz in 2018, where Yovel was named MVP and led his Israeli junior team to the title, the international has been one of the most closely observed talents worldwide. For the last four years in a row, he won the Israeli championship with Maccabi Tel Aviv where he played brilliantly in positions two to four and where his stellar performances in the EuroLeague also earned him a reputation as an excellent defender. Recently, however, the forward started feeling too restricted in his defensive role. At the age of 23, he is now opening up a new chapter in his career with his first engagement abroad – in the ALBA jersey.
