Founded in 1989, ALBA BERLIN has become the most popular basketball club in Germany and one of the most prestigious franchises in European basketball. With an overall record of 10 German League titles, 10 German Cup titles and winning the Korac Cup in 1995, the team belongs to the most successful professional sports teams in Germany. In 2021/2022 the ALBA BERLIN men's team will compete in the German easyCredit BBL and the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, coached by Israel González. This marks a 32-year-long streak of continuously playing in European competitions and since their inaugural season the „Albatrosses“ have always qualified for the German playoffs.
Not only successful on the male professional level, ALBA BERLIN is proud to have the largest youth and women’s department in Germany, being regularly awarded for their athletic achievements and excellent development standards. In this season our women's team competes in the second league. Cooperating with more than 160 schools, universities and other educational key players in and outside of Berlin, makes the club an important social role player in society. At ALBA everyone is convinced that Basketball can make a valuable contribution to living a healthy, sustainable and socially integrated lifestyle and has the power to inspire and unite people in a way that little else does.
